Comic book publisher Scout Comics has issued a statement to their X and Facebook accounts following a slew of frustrations alleged by some of their creator-clients.
Many were quick to point out that the statement did little to ease tensions as reply on X were quickly limited by Scout Comics. The accusations against the publisher have continued to pile up following their statement.
We are unable to confirm, but have received direct messages from other creators that the alleged practices of obscuring sales numbers and avoiding client contact has been an ongoing problem at Scout Comics for years. One instance included a client requesting sales numbers for their book through Scout. They were met with silence, and upon requesting termination of their contract, were told they could buy out for 75k dollars of stock at retail price. Our source alleged that following this exchange, their book was then suppressed by Scout Comics and no longer promoted or featured at conventions.
